Seeking Nominations for the Strategic Planning Committee
Dear UNI Community,
As we approach the final year of the UNI 2017-22 Strategic Plan, the university is initiating the process to develop our next strategic plan. This process occurs at a critical point in our university's history, a period marked by profound change to higher education and the communities we serve. Together, we have prepared a Future Vision for UNI that ensures we are both leading and adapting in our rapidly shifting environment; this Future Vision also sets a framework for future strategic plans and has shaped our approach for selecting the next strategic planning committee and preparing its charge.
The university needs your engagement in appointing members to the Strategic Planning Committee. We are inviting nominations of those who are interested in serving on the Strategic Planning Committee and can assist in assembling a plan that advances progress on our Future Vision themes. Those themes are:
- Economic Development Innovation
- Community Outreach and Engagement
- Philanthropy and Stewardship
- Academic Excellence and Innovation
- Student Access, Support, and Success
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Systemic Change
- Operational Excellence and Business Processes
- Shared Governance Excellence
If you are interested in serving on the Strategic Planning Committee, please complete a brief nomination form by Friday, April 2nd, at 5:00pm. In addition, with their consent you may nominate any current student or employee to serve on the committee by completing the form and describing why you believe this individual would be effective in helping the university develop our next plan. Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of representatives of the university's shared governance leadership groups and administration. It is essential the Strategic Plan Committee reflects the diversity of our campus and brings a variety of perspectives, interests, and backgrounds as we continue building a future university that provides rich educational and professional experiences for all.
If you would like to learn more about the strategic planning process and the time and duration commitments in serving on this committee before filling out the nomination form, we invite you to review the Strategic Planning Committee Overview.
In just five years, UNI will celebrate its sesquicentennial since our founding as the Iowa State Normal School in 1876. The stewardship of each generation since our very beginning has shaped who we are today. Your engagement in the strategic planning process is an important part of our university's work—our stewardship—in laying the foundation of our present and setting a framework for a strong and vibrant future.
Panther Proud!
