We’re delighted that you’re here, excited for the possibilities this academic year holds and hopeful that you’ll consider this beautiful campus a genuine home. All of us are here to help you succeed.
Please remember to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and we encourage you to continue wearing a mask in your classes and other indoor public settings. This is important even if you’re already vaccinated. In line with CDC guidance for vaccinated individuals such as myself, I’ll be wearing a mask in indoor public places and encourage everyone else to do the same.
Throughout the fall semester, the Student Health Center will hold regular vaccination clinics on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. and on Fridays from 9-11 a.m. Please call (319) 273-2100 to schedule an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome. Vaccines are safe and effective and, along with wearing a mask, offer the best lines of protection to keep yourself and your community safe.
Starting August 30th, students who show their vaccination card and university ID will receive a $25 gift card to the UNI Bookstore that can be used to purchase hats, shirts, and other UNI logo wear. We are extending this benefit to those who received their vaccination prior to the start of the academic year. To claim your gift card, simply stop by the Maucker Union information desk between noon and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and show your vaccination card and university ID card. Be sure to get your vaccine soon; this offer is good through Friday, October 15th!
