The Office of the President invites early- to mid-career members of the UNI faculty, staff and administration to apply for the 2016-17 “President's Leadership Academy.” The academy is intended to offer an opportunity to create a synergy between vocational reflection and leadership development in service to the university’s mission on behalf of the public good.
The project will be guided by experienced educator and facilitator Chris Johnson utilizing principles and practices of the Circles of Trust® developed by Parker J. Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal.
The academy’s schedule will be as follows:
Workshop 1: Oct. 13-14, 2016
Workshop 2: Jan. 13, 2017 (Jan. 20 in case of inclement weather)
Workshop 3: April 14, 2017
Workshop 4: June 15-16, 2017
Closing Retreat: Sept. 28–30, 2017 at Prairie Oaks Institute, Belle Plaine, MN
More details on the academy and an application form can be found online. Applications are due by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the President's Office.
Please note that the primary goal of this academy is to strengthen the ability to lead from where you are, no matter the role or position you hold here at UNI. While it may offer assistance in promotion, it is not intended for that purpose.
