Webinar opportunities for faculty/staff

Greetings,

We want to offer you some very timely webinar opportunities. The first webinar is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, and is titled "Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington on Training Staff to Respond to Racial Climate Challenges."

This webinar will share insights and expertise on how to engage and respond to issues of diversity and inclusion on college campuses. After the webinar, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., several members from the Dean's Advisory Council will moderate a discussion about what was just learned from the presentation. The University Room in Maucker Union has been reserved for viewing and the discussion.
The second webinar is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 18, and is titled "Yik Yak & Anonymous Social Media: What You Need to Know & Do About the Latest Issues." The University Room in Maucker Union has been reserved for viewing.

National expert and higher education social media thought-leader Eric Stoller (UNI B.A. '00) will discuss the latest updates and best practices in using Yik Yak as a campus tool – reversing it as a "social bane" to a "social benefit."

We encourage you to participate in both of these webinars. They are a step in the right direction to make our campus a more welcoming and inclusive environment.
