V.I.D.S. classes

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, we have witnessed an increase in violence on college campuses across the United States. Our best defense against this violence is to be prepared and be proactive. A few weeks ago we attended a Violent Incident Defense Strategies training put on by our Department of Public Safety and found it very well done - active, engaged learning and very, very useful.

Public Safety has opened up three additional V.I.D.S. classes on Tuesday, November 3rd, in the Business and Community Services building (BCS), Room 30. Sessions run 9 to 11:30 a.m.; 1 to 3:30 p.m.; and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Class size will be limited to 28 spots, per class.

Here is the link to the registration site: http://www.vpaf.uni.edu/pubsaf/vids.shtml.

We would encourage, especially faculty, to sign up for one of these sessions but they are open to the entire campus community. Additional sessions will occur in the spring semester.

Thank you,
