A Veteran's Day Message from UNI President Bill Ruud

Dear UNI Family,

Today we celebrate the brave women and men who have served and are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are grateful for the sacrifices, commitment and dedication all Veterans and their families have made to protect our country. Answering our country’s call is of the highest order and we commend and honor our Veterans for their service.

I encourage everyone to thank our Veterans and consider participating in many of the opportunities we have on campus this week. A full list of events is available at uni.edu/military/veterans-week. The flag raising this morning by our Army Reserve Officer Training Corps was impressive, and I hope to see many of you at the Veteran’s Ball this evening.

UNI has also been honored by being selected to the Military Times "Best for Vets: Colleges 2014" rankings. This distinction recognizes and rewards UNI for its commitment to providing opportunities to America’s Veterans.

Let us always remember and salute our courageous Veterans and all who are currently serving in all branches of the service… we cannot say thank you enough!
