Notice of the passing of former Communication Studies head John Burtis

Dear UNI Family,

It is with great sadness that we share with you the loss of a member of the UNI family: John Burtis, professor of communication studies.

John was former head of the Department of Communication Studies. He was not only widely loved and respected within the department, but throughout campus as well.

John will be buried near Manhatten, Kansas, in a lovely rural Flint Hills cemetery in the company of family members. A memorial service will be held in Cedar Falls at a later date.
