New VP for University Advancement Named

Dear UNI Family,

I am excited to announce that Lisa Birley Baronio has been named vice president for University Advancement and president of the UNI Foundation. She will assume her new duties at UNI on July 15.

Lisa is an accomplished fundraiser with experience in executive leadership. She has a strong track record of strengthening fundraising programs, as well as comprehensive fundraising, volunteer management, campaign and major gift experience. I am excited that she will be bringing those skills and expertise to the University of Northern Iowa.

Lisa is a Waterloo native, so we're very happy she's returning to Iowa. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa in management science, a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from the University of Iowa and an executive MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Bill Calhoun, UNI's current vice president for University Advancement and president of the UNI Foundation, will retire on June 30, 2015, after more than 34 successful years at UNI.
