John Baskerville Obituary

Dear UNI Family,

It is with great sadness that we share with you the loss of a member of the UNI family: John Baskerville, an associate professor of history.

A native of Waterloo, John joined UNI's Department of History in 1993. He very much enjoyed researching and learning more about the history of African-American musical forms and popular icons like Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. John also enjoyed playing bass for the local band Checker and the Bluetones. He was a mentor to many students and a friend whom we will greatly miss.

John, who was not especially fond of ceremony, wanted no memorial service.
