Good News to End the Semester

Dear UNI Family,

Congratulations graduates, and congratulations to the faculty and staff who have helped you succeed during your time at UNI! Before you leave for the summer, I want to share more good news.

  • The Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust awarded $490,863 to UNI's Department of Earth Science to fund the development of an Environmental Analysis Classroom and Laboratory.

  • For those of you interested in continuing your education as a leader in industrial environments, we are now accepting applications for the Master of Science in Technology.

  • KXEL's "The HomeOfThePanthers.com Pregame Show" received first place in the large market radio division for sports coverage at the Iowa Broadcast News Association annual award banquet in Waterloo.

  • Evan Lefebure, a senior majoring in management, and Luke Neuhaus, a senior majoring in economics, accounting and finance, received second place at the Principal Financial Case Competition in April.

  • Dennis Clayson, professor of marketing, received Best Paper: Honorable Mention for his paper titled "Creativity and Academic Performance: Are they Related?" at the 2016 Marketing Educators' Association Annual Conference.

  • Brittany Holthaus, Tobias Henderson and Kathryn Storey, all students in Gayle Pohl's Public Relations Campaign Methods class, received a runner-up award for their video "Carrying Hope, One Education at a Time" for the PR Council's Take Flight with PR Video Contest.

  • Approximately 2,000 degrees will be conferred during Commencement ceremonies this Saturday.

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication this academic year. It would not have been such a successful year without you!
