Congratulations to our 2014 Graduates

Dear UNI Family,

Congratulations, graduates! We look forward to conferring degrees to more than 1,650 students; recognizing our Lux Service Award recipients Kayla McCormick and Daye Pope; and honoring 2nd Lt. Robert J. Hibbs, a 1964 UNI graduate who is our only Medal of Honor recipient. The Medal of Honor is the highest decoration for valor that can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services. The spring Commencement ceremony marks his 50-year reunion.

We have a wonderful university filled with a rich history of academic excellence. One of our hallmarks is the dedication and commitment our faculty have to teaching, research, discovery and the educational success of our students. Faculty, we are grateful for your steadfast scholarly work that advances this university and contributes greatly to the success of our graduates.

To the graduates, your years of hard work and perseverance have paid off. On behalf of the entire University of Northern Iowa family, please accept our congratulations! Also, thank you for choosing to attend UNI. You have benefited from your time here and we have benefited from your presence. Thank you for helping UNI be a premier university known for our academic excellence and a great place filled with many opportunities to learn and be challenged. As you continue on your journey, remember that you are always welcome at your alma mater and we hope you return to visit frequently.

Thank you for all your support, and enjoy Commencement!

Purple for Life!
