Dear Panther Family,

The purpose of higher education is to positively impact society through the lives of our alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

UNI makes a positive difference in the world by providing a high quality learning environment that empowers our students to discover where they belong. We also fulfill our purpose by advancing knowledge, promoting creativity, and solving problems in partnership with the people, schools, communities, and industries we serve. UNI's Class of 2018 represents the next generation of teachers, entrepreneurs, scientists, fine and performing artists, scholars, volunteers, and community leaders who will positively impact society.

Commencement offers an opportunity to pause and celebrate the accomplishments of our students and the important work we do to prepare graduates for lives of purpose through their careers and in their homes and communities. It is also a time to honor the faculty and staff who contributed to the success of our students and alumni.
