Brenda Bass named Interim Provost and Executive Vice President

Dear Colleagues,

Pending approval by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, Dr. Brenda Bass will assume the role of interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Bass is currently UNI's dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (CSBS). She will assume her new duties on August 1, 2016, if approved at the upcoming Board of Regents meeting.

Dr. Bass became dean of CSBS in August of 2014 after serving for two years as interim dean. Dr. Bass came to UNI in 1996 as an assistant professor. From 2000 to 2008, she served as the coordinator of the Family Studies Program. She then moved into the role of associate dean in CSBS before becoming interim dean in 2012. In 2009, she was awarded the status of full professor in the School of Applied Human Sciences.

Dr. Bass earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, and her master's and Ph.D. in family studies from the University of Arizona. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Bass into the role of Interim Provost and thanking her for her service.
